How do I spend the day

How do I spend the day

What s question? A question everyone asks and few understand the true meaning of it. Seconds, Minutes, Hours, Days, Nights, Years pass by and we are scarcely aware of the Time passing ,or is it surpassing Time ? Who conquers ultimately? - It is time. We are victims - unwittingly, unwillingly.

When Time conquers us we flow along Time unaware of the havoc it has caused in our lives – scarcely knowing that we ill-spent time misspent time destroyed the preciousness of Time. When we are victims of Time, we are unconscious of time. We are not even aware of the subtle concept of time. We see watches but we are nit watchful. We see Time passing but we don’t know we are passing. We see seasons change but we don’t change. We tear-off calendar pages but do not realize that twelve months of our life have been torn off our calendar.

We make holy resolutions on the New Year eve and forget them before the end of January. Pause, my friend, my soul mate, do not go very fast or else, Time will devour us!. Halt and find where does Time conquer us.

It is when we get up without a purpose - when good mornings are digital and cold, breakfasts are bland, when rush hours to office drive one crazy, when work at office is heartless and mechanized, when evening sets in to bring us an uninteresting TV show and a cup of coffee lies unheeded on the side table. When children seen to irritate, spouses seem to nag and supper is a silent meeting of company isolates not companions who belong to us. When sleep comes without a tablet and the day is gone – we are gone! Where ???

Do not worry! Do not fret! Life is a lovely gift of the Maker and make is it lovelier by offering it to Him! To conquer Time is to use Time the right way. Indian seers told us to care of the body, mind and soul! What a holistic approach to human welfare!! Any lopsided emphasis in this formula leads to disaster or despair! Give the body its due - look after it or it is the vehicle of the indwelling soul! It is the holy temple of the Maker. A healthy body cannot afford addictions! Keep fit physically to keep fit mentally! He body is a lovely machine or several factories put together with no noise! No pollution Automatic in its functioning and consistent in its action. It is amazing in its powers and fascinating in its capabilities. Give it its due! Care for it. Groom it, make it grow strong and not weak and sick! Spend a few minutes of the day in looking after the body. Habits and food play a major role in body care. Habits are to be developed, not as a fad or fashion as the mob commands, but healthy habits which prevent one from dissipation of energy- a precious gift of god. Food has to be sathvic – leading to serenity, tranquility and peace. Moderation in food and various indulgences is necessary. We cannot eat all that we want and as much as we want. Excessive food leads to obesity, insufficient intake of food leads to anorexia! Both are forbidden by Indian sages.

Along with habits and food – consider activity and rest as equally important. Activity is a must but not frenzied activity. It should be meaningful, mind elevating sols regaling activity. At the some time one should not over exert oneself. Many call themselves workaholics and end up as physical wrecks! The body needs rest and sleep. It is necessary to rest and enjoy sleep to keep the body fit!

Give time for the mind! Let it not move long the beaten track of a mob! Let us celebrate on cerebrate cerebrations! The Maker gave us a subtle power of the mind which has infinite capabilities. Make it help us grow. Let it not guide us from darkness to pitch darkness but to infinite light! Let it feed us with noble thoughts and prompt us to nobler deeds. Let us put value before all valuables! Let it be the driving force of our life towards the pinnacle of excellence!

Mind and body help us function as professionals! Our job requires time, energy and brains! Do not think that frequent holidays and sudden resignations are solutions for problems at work! They only aggravate the agony! Love your work! Love your job, it is a God-given job, a God-propelled job! Duty is cumbersome when one performs for oneself - Tension and depression are natural outcomes of such a duty. At the end of a heavy day, if u are still smiling it means you know how to disburden yourself. Ego prevents disburdening. Humility accelerates it. Ego makes you tense, humility says relax. Ego says I do it, humility says He makes you do it. Ego is battered and shattered by set backs, humility accepts, setbacks as essential experiences for a journey of excellence. Duty becomes delectable when offered to one’s Maker and when it is done in a spirit of excellent dedication.

At the end of the day, quickly review the day. Have “I really lived” or “has the day passed by”, “Did I help only myself” or “someone who needed my help!” selfless deeds of kindness are the prizes the soul wins in the course of the day. Make the soul dwell on the ultimate goal – remembering man is a mini-god in the making. Compassion , conviction, courage are the qualities of the Maker and present in the soul – these need to be kept alive.

Have we forgotten enough time for the soul, the propeller of our life, the one who outlives the body, outgrows the sensuous, ascends the eternity, expands into infinity and dissolves in the divinity! If the answer is yes, it is a well-spent day.

Have a nice day, may soul mate, my friend, my reader, a meaningful, purposeful, happy day leading you from man to man, man to Nature, man to GOD.

Life without Gadgets and Gizmos

Its been almost over a month since i published a blog post, but i am not responsible for it. Blame it on the our 21st century lifestyle of continuously depending on some or the electronic device for our day-to-day life activities. Yes, something as trivial as publishing on the net is dependent !!!

I have this habit of publishing relevant pictures/cartoons along with my blog post, and this has been the reason which has been hindering the active participation on the net :)
I have finished the text for my next blog post as early as 2 days after my previous post was published, but because i have taken some pics in my camera-fone and i dont have the data cable to transfer it from my camera to fone i am not able to put it on the net still!!

I guess this reason is ridiculous but still i know a lot of people will surely agree with me.
Hope to find my data cable ASAP :)

(Btw, this is not a pic taken from my camera .. found it on the net :) )

Aamir - a movie worth seeing

After a long time, i was really blessed to see an amazing hindi movie sans Big stars, huge sets, huge troops for songs and huge budget and yet very heart touching, soul stirring, thought provoking movie ---- AAMIR.

The movie starts with how a doctor returning from UK, initially finds himself in the cozy comfortable atmosphere of a Air India Flight, and from there gets to see how Muslim doctors returning from UK are getting treated here in India by their "own country's" people and then goes through a roller coaster ride through out the day till the unforeseen happens. This reminds us about a the news a few months back about Indian doctors abroad getting involved in terrorist activities.

Initially, when you see the "man on the phone", speaks to the protogonist about the state of people here in India, you suddenly feel that 'OK, this film speaks about the state of people in India and wants to educate people in and coming from abroad, how they owe a lot to the country which gave them education and help them become a "valuable" person for the world'.

Then you see Aamir, actually getting out of the taxi and resolving the traffic jam within few minutes and you again feel, its about educating people about the state and problems faced in India and how sitting in an AC vehicle doesn't help and you have get down on your feet to solve any small or big problem faced by the country and the society today. And in the same frame see other people just looking at him and thinking 'whats the need for him to get down and solve this problem?'.

Then you see he meets a person, who gives a suitcase and the 'Man on the fone' tell him that the suitcase has bomb in it and he has the guts to open it and sees only lots of cash in it, then you realize, even you would have done the same when you were faced with a situation where you are being asked to do, something which you do not have any relation to, yet being forced to do.

Then in the climax, how he decides that lives of thousands is more important than his or his family, this is surely the best climax for years to come in the subject like this. Suddenly you are spellbound and really dont know what to say...

The film actually reveals what we see through our eyes is not what the actual fact is, but what we perceve it to be through our blunt thoughts and thinking. The character lives up to the name given to it, AAMIR - meaning leader. Bombay provides the best picturesque location for such a plot.

Top notch acting by Rajeev Khandelwal, who moved from Small screen to Big screen for good, and shows that he is no less in acting when compared to the top actors in bollywood. Background score is just great matches the tempo, speed and the mood of the film. Great debut for Raj Kumar Gupta as a director unlike many others, who usually take up perfect Masala story with song and dance sequences, one item number, a cameo by a high paid actor and foot tapping music. Hope the director continues to give us more and more movies which are so thought provoking as Aamir.

Great work --- Kaun kehta hai aadmi apni kismat khud Likhta hai ?..... AAMIR

Time flies!!!

This day, previous year.

Yes, its been a year since i joined the company i am working for. It was my first job and i had to learn what the "Software industry" is all about.

I still vividly remember the day, and the day before that day too, previous day, I had made sure i had enough time to make sure i have put all my certificates in the bag, made sure i am carrying all the documents the company asked me to get. On that day, couldn't sleep after 5 AM, though i usually get up only at 7:30!!! ;), made sure i finished all my daily chores before leaving home for my "first day @ office", so that i will be happy through out the day, and reached office on time, met new "colleagues", and had a blast that day, and going back home with the new ID card with my name and photo on it :). Life has really come a long way from that day.

Guess, i or more precisely all of us who have completed a year in the industry, have come a long way from being college going, "Happy-go-lucky" guys to thorough software professionals, i guess the latter part have to come our managers. Anyway, at least we believe we have come a long way.

For public buses to Office "Shuttles", For Bunks to Leaves, From classes to meetings, from labs to F2Fs ( Face to Face), from lab records to appraisal documents, from being intelligent to being wiser, looks like everything is changed, except the child like enthusiasm to achieve more in life, to reach greater heights in personal as well as professional career.

Through this year, we have seen a lot of changes as well, our near and dear friends moving abroad for studies, some going for a short stints as a official trip and coming back with a bulkier wallets and airbags :), some shifting 2 or 3 companies and finally ending up doing what they feel they are best at, from personal life, some getting engaged, some getting married and changing their last name and coming to some sorrowful facts, some of our near and dear ones, who felt happy along with us when we landed up with a job, are no longer with us in this world.

We have seen a lot in this eventful one year and hope we see many more like this, with more happier events and very less sad events.

Hoping to see greater heights in everyone's life
